NSW Minister Natasha Maclaren-Jones is firming in her bid to replace Rob Stokes in the seat of Pittwater with the backing of key figures in the Liberal Party’s dominant Left faction.
Left faction powerbrokers are inclined to support Ms Maclaren-Jones for the Pittwater seat as part of a wider push to get more women into parliament. That’s despite multiple party sources questioning the frontbencher’s local credentials. Ms Maclaren-Jones owns a property in the Pittwater electorate, but does not live there – although has indicated that she would move in if elected.
